Life is a challenging force that leaves us in a labyrinth upon our arrival on earth. Regardless of how we navigate this intricate maze, life ultimately concludes, and we must face death. This labyrinth is chaotic, endless, and whatnot. Responsibilities, family needs, work, self-growth, etc., are stages with unpredictable difficulties. Yet, amid all this, some people emit` calming wavelengths.

Just how do they do that? Let's explore step-by-step practical strategies that can help you feel special in this labyrinth.

Amid the fog, I stand visible.
Amid the fog, I stand visible.

Acknowledge the Chaos

The first step to be happy and laugh by yourself is acknowledging the existence of chaos. Life's unpredictability can present numerous challenges. Accepting that you can't control everything is freeing, but it comes with a paradox—it will bring stress. However, this stress can be healing. It allows you to focus on actions you can take and that is liberating.

So how come stress is beneficial?

Identify what’s making you feel stressed. Is it your job? Family demands? Financial issues?

Once you identify the issue, write it down in such detail that you begin to ask yourself, 'Did I deserve this?

By pinpointing these stressors, you'll gain a clearer, bigger picture of your challenges. This will help you create a plan to address them directly. Please take a note, writing everything down is to find a solution for that, not to grieve.

For example, if breakdown is your main stressor, consider talking to one who cools you down, reading or journaling, and maybe more sleep.

Mindfulness and Correctness

One of the most effective ways to find yourself amid a disaster is through mindfulness and knowing that you can not be correct all the time. Humans are built on mistakes, guilt, and continuous learning. It's okay to to make mistakes if you are aware to take responsibility and work on the same to grow. And this will lead to a future where others will take a stand on your judgment.

I have been practicing the following practices that help to stay focused on the present moment, reducing anxiety and stress.

  • Mindfulness: This means paying attention to your thoughts and feelings without judgment. You can practice mindfulness anytime—waiting in line, enjoying a meal, or going for a walk. Research shows that mindfulness can reduce stress levels by up to 30%. All you need to do is observe. Observe small things like fractal patterns in leaves, the sound of your clicking mouse, the soft voice in the traffic, etc.

  • Meditation: Dedicating just 10 minutes each day to meditation can significantly improve your mental state. Try guided meditations or focus on your breath. There’s no wrong way to meditate—the goal is to quiet your mind and find a moment of peace.

  • Keeping track: We all have habits and keeping track of them is a handy habit. The feeling of doing something great & being productive is the result of it. This tracking is the mother of the thought, "I have something to rely on". Isn't it a wonderful butterfly to keep?

  • 5 Minutes of Bed Talk: Talking to people is an art but self-talk is a book, full of ups and downs. I believe if you hesitate to talk to your inner self, you are not true, not the person you quite think you are. So try to start with one-minute self-talk at the end of the day when you are off to bed, asking 'What did I like the most about today?', 'How can I make tomorrow effective?', 'Where did I go wrong today?'. And then increase the time till you dive into dreams.

Once we learn to center ourselves, the next step is fueling our inner drive—motivation.

Motivation

Your surroundings greatly impact your mental state. The vision you have for yourself will push your limits and the motivated zeal to conquer the goal is key to finding yourself.

Spend some time enhancing your environment at home or work to create an atmosphere that sparks your eyes and your brain sends electrifying signals. Here’s how:

  • Plants: Adding greenery can elevate your mood. Studies show that indoor plants can boost feelings of well-being by as much as 60%.

  • Colors: Opt for soothing shades like soft blues or greens for walls and decor. These colors are often linked to relaxation. Or whatever you like.

  • Lighting: Use soft, warm lighting to create a cozy atmosphere. Candles or fairy lights can provide a gentle glow, enhancing your space’s tranquility.

  • Posters: Elevate your walls with the posters of your inspiration or what keeps you going.

  • Random: There are stories that claim that brilliant minds get motivated by some act or animal. Look and rise.

Boundary

In our digital age, feeling overwhelmed by information is common. Limit your exposure to news and social media, which can heighten feelings of anxiety. Instead, curate the content you consume. Follow accounts that inspire you rather than drain your energy.

Set specific times to check the news, and stick to those limits. Studies indicate that reducing news consumption can lead to a 21% decrease in anxiety levels. Not only digital limit exposure is needed but there should be a positive boundary between the other humans you know. You can't feel special if someone around you thrives on bringing you down. Create your boundaries. As Ron says,

“Don't let the muggles get you down.”

Know What You Need

Sometimes all we need is a long cozy bath. Or someone to ask, "Hi! Buddy, How are you doing recently". A hug from a trustworthy would help. They all do help but ask and get a clear difference between what you want & what you need. How to know that?

Simple, if you can't survive without something is being needed. Wanting influence, makes you work harder and harder to get and after achieving it, you might find something else to spend your energy on. Where else need is a sense of security, a long-term confidence.

Prioritize Self-Care

When life gets hectic, self-care often takes a backseat. Yet, prioritizing yourself is essential for maintaining your sanity. Schedule time for activities that rejuvenate you, whether it’s reading (blogs on mind's canvas), taking a brisk walk, or meowing at a cat.

Consider a self-care routine that includes:

  • Physical Activity: Regular exercise releases endorphins, boosting your mood. Just 30 minutes of moderate exercise several times a week can significantly enhance mental well-being.

  • Healthy Eating: Eating nutritious foods helps improve overall mental health. Incorporate more fruits, vegetables, and whole grains into your meals.

  • Sleep: Aim for 7 to 9 hours of sleep each night. A well-rested brain is more effective at handling stress. Though I'm none to talk about this.

In other words, train like Zoro, eat like Luffy, study like Robin, and sail in life like straw hats.

Embrace Imperfection

Understand that life doesn’t have to be perfect, it's a maze. No one knows where it is heading. But one thing is sure that, you are special. You don't need anyone else to make you feel one. Accepting imperfection helps manage expectations and reduces pressure. Mistakes will happen; allow yourself to learn from them instead of being overly critical.

Be gentle with yourself. You are the only one in the entire known universe. When setbacks occur, approach yourself with kindness and compassion. Remember that every day brings new opportunities for growth and improvement.

Final Thoughts

Finding yourself in a chaotic world takes patience and practice. You are already special—you don’t need external validation to prove it. Every twist and turn in this labyrinth is shaping you. Keep walking, keep learning, and keep embracing the journey. Keep your head high and roar through this labyrinth. It’s about progress, not perfection. The goal isn’t to eliminate chaos but to equip yourself with tools to navigate through it. With time and persistence, you can cultivate a resilient mindset that keeps you calm and maintains the special aura that you can see.

Keep practicing these strategies, and you may find that the chaos of everyday life holds less sway over you, allowing for more moments of tranquility & joy with yourself.  Let's become the best version of ourselves.
