Words, aren't words the one that makes us, us?

So, it was a typical Tuesday night, and a not-so-close person put an image on WhatsApp status which made me wonder, aren't words, communication, is the thing that make us rude, polite or whatever we are known for? The status was,

The status of someone makes me wonder...
The status of someone makes me wonder...

Ever been in a situation where you meant to say something else but people took you in a way that even you can't think of? Or ever considered that the words you once spoke weigh a value you cannot afford? Or let's say you are not like what people perceive you as...

Words shape not just how others see you but also how you see yourself. We say beauty lies within, but if your words appeared on your skin, would you still be beautiful?

Will you be able to love yourself or the dearest one you have? This intriguing thought opens up discussions about self-expression, self-worth, and the effects of speech on ourselves and others.

The Power of Words

Words are a blade so sharp that they make the living dead. It can inspire, motivate, and connect but also hurt our morale. Think about it: how often do you find yourself using words that bring others down? Or how often you were in a state of losing just from the words of others? In every era of human civilization, hatred, false accusations, and terror spread like a fire in a dry forest. It's essential to note down the vocabulary, tone

Shall we consider our daily interactions? When was the last time you celebrated others or accepted their flaws and become their strength? And when was the last time you hurt someone, intentionally or not? What would happen if each interaction left a mark on your skin? Would it create a canvas of encouragement, or would it tell a tale of negativity?

Research shows that positive reinforcement not only improves academic performance but also fosters overall well-being. For instance, a study noted that when teachers effectively applied positive reinforcement, student focus increased by up to 30%.

The Concept of Beauty

Beauty goes beyond physical appearance. It is present in how we treat others and communicate. If the words we chose daily were visibly marked on our bodies, we might become more mindful of what we say.

In today’s digital age, words can spread rapidly, leaving lasting impacts. A survey from the Pew Research Center revealed that about 40% of teens report being bullied online. If these hurtful phrases created visible scars, would you still be quick to press "send"?

Self-Reflection

How can we shift our message? It starts with self-reflection. Take time to evaluate your communication—not just your words but your gestures, too. Are your words rooted in kindness or negativity? Sometimes, we get hurt by the body language of the person, not the speech. Recognizing the impact of your every action can open pathways to greater compassion.

Remember, reflection isn't solely internal; it also extends to your interactions. Treat others the way you want to get treated. When encountering someone in distress, consider what words you would want to hear in their situation. Strive to be a supportive presence rather than critical. It's easy to become a critic rather than a protector.

Creating a Beautiful Narrative

Positivity in our language not only improves our relationships but also enhances our inner dialogue. Positive self-affirmations can significantly alter how we perceive ourselves.

When was the last time you looked in the mirror and admired what you saw? Consider developing a personal mantra, such as "I am worthy" or "I embrace love and joy." If your self-worth was displayed on your skin, would you be kinder to yourself?

The Ripple Effect

Ever heard of the Ripple effect?
Ever heard of the Ripple effect?

Ripple effect:- a situation in which one event produces effects which spread and produce further effects. <Cambridge Dictionary>

We have seen it in our day to day life. But do words create ripples? Well, yes, they do. They create ripples that reach beyond just your immediate audience. Each positive or negative phrase can linger, shaping how people think and act.

Kind words can ignite a chain reaction. For instance, complimenting a stranger might elevate their mood, prompting them to extend kindness to others, which we have seen in many social media posts. This process can create a wave of positivity. Conversely, negative statements can drag others down, perpetuating a cycle of hurt. If these words were etched on your skin, would they narrate a story of love or pain?

Building a Positive Vocabulary

Want to change for a good? Try to shift your vocabulary toward positivity, which reflects calmness and humbleness. Here are two key ways to reshape your words:

  1. Embrace Gratitude: Incorporate daily expressions of gratitude for people and experiences in your life. A simple "thank you" can make a big difference. Be down to earth and don't try to rule the people.

  2. Affirmative Communication: Frame your conversations to inspire and motivate. For example, instead of saying "don't worry," try "you are capable and will find a solution."

By consciously adjusting our language, we can reshape how we see ourselves and contribute to a more beautiful world, not just for us but for everyone around us.

A Call to Action

The metaphor of having our words written on our skin highlights how language influences our identity and perception of beauty. What would your skin reveal if it displayed every phrase you’ve spoken?

Think about it. Would you wear those words with pride, or would you wish to hide them away? Ultimately, the choice is yours. This is a call to action: Speak beautifully, think positively, and spread kindness with every interaction. Your words can create beauty that transcends mere appearance; they nourish hearts and souls.

So, take a moment today and choose your words thoughtfully. The true beauty of communication is in its power to transform lives, starting with your own.
